We picked Farrow up off the streets of some river town in the San Joaquin river valley. He was living off of cheap cigarettes and two-dollar wine and he still dressed in clothes that he probably couldn't afford. We caught him walking down an empty road, his coat slicked by a thin sheet of dust, swaying side to side like he was a piece of the river he followed. He wore sunglasses even though it was night and made Mr. Talkative suspicious.
